CATHY DAVEY

Dublin lass CATHY DAVEY would no doubt be tickled pink & pleased as punch if you were to check out her second record, TALES OF SILVERSLEEVE. It's available @ iTUNES, as well as [HERE].

Ms. Davey's voice has a breathy, little-girl quality to it that evokes SIXPENCE NONE THE RICHER's LEIGH NASH (and, therefore, by extension, THE SUNDAYS' HARRIET WHEELER). That fact alone ought to draw her some attention. But it also helps that "Can't Help It" rides an EMINEM/"Lose Yourself" bassline to a lush, gorgeous chorus and that "Sing for Your Supper" builds effortlessly from a trot to a gallop. Erin go Bragh!
