SOFT COMPLEX

Washington D.C. synth-poppers SOFT COMPLEX released their first recording, BARCELONA, back in October. Whether to call it an EP or LP is a bit of a question -- seeing as its eight tracks run almost an hour.

"Barcelona" is the real star of the show here -- five-and-a-half minutes of '80s-styled pop moodiness in the vein of THE SMITHS, THE CURE, and NEW ORDER. Atmospheric but undeniably danceable.

The Person Autopilot remix of "Beat the Chill," on the other hand, sports a dark synthesizer backing that recalls DURAN DURAN's "All She Wants Is...."

The group will be playing the ROCK & ROLL HOTEL in D.C. on February 13 with STELLASTARR* and MONSTERS ARE WAITING.

FYI:
Stellastar is still here but the other two songs produce an "incorrect URL" error message.
Cheers
